Team Structure
The following descriptions briefly outline the training groups of Crimson Tide Aquatics. The coaching staff determines placement within the program and advancement through the different levels. We have a very experienced and trained staff that knows what is best for the individual swimmer.
White
This is the introductory group for the first time swimmer. Stroke fundamentals and enjoyment for the sport are emphasized. Swimmers are encouraged to attend practice 2-3 times per week for an hour each time. Competition is not necessary, but going to some local meets would be very beneficial.
Crimson I
The emphasis for this group is to continue building upon the basic fundamentals of the White group while introducing more advanced drills and efficiency techniques. In addition, these swimmers will be introduced to basic interval training and aerobic development. Swimmers are encouraged to attend practice 3-4 times per week for 1.5 hours each practice session along with competing at local meets.
Crimson II
Swimmers in this group will refine their mechanics in all 4 strokes, turns, and starts. The primary focus of this group is the aerobic training and conditioning that needs to occur on a consistent basis. Swimmers in the Crimson II group will also be exposed to dry-land training. Swimmers are encouraged to attend all practice sessions for optimum performance along with attending local and away meets.
High School
The emphasis for this group is enjoyment of the sport without the pressures and demands that the Senior group has. Swimmers at this level have the freedom to do other activities and attend practice at their leisure. Swimmers are encouraged to attend 3-4 practice sessions per week (@ 1.5 hours in duration) along with attending swim meets. There are basic prereq's that are needed for this group.
Senior/Senior Elite
This is our highest training group(s). Swimmers at these levels are preparing for future regional and national level competitions. In these groups, dry-land training is increased as well as training volumes and intensities. Swimmers are expected to attend all practice sessions that are offered for the week along with attending all swim meets.
